Holladay Pizza and Creamery
If you’re craving sweet and savory for lunch or dinner, head over to Holladay Pizza and Creamery, located at 4655 South 2300 East. The fresh made pizzas and ice cream will satisfy both cravings in a friendly, family-owned location. Owner Mike Malouf is a long time Holladay resident and started his business so he could spend more time with his children.
“I’ve lived in this area for most of my life, and we wanted to create a fun place that I could do with my kids,” he says. “My kids help with everything – from which flavors to do for the ice cream to the best toppings.”
This place has a little something for everyone. If you’re looking for a quick family dinner on your way home from work, stop and pick up a freshly baked cheese, pepperoni or Hawaiian pizza. Mike says the restaurant always has them freshly made and ready to be picked up quickly.
This is no mass produced pizza, though. The toppings are fresh and pizzas can be easily customized and take less than 10 minutes to bake. Starting at $5.99 for cheese, these pizzas aren’t just tasty; they are inexpensive, too. Additional toppings are only $1 and there are plenty to choose from.
Holladay Pizza and Creamery offers dine in and take out pizza and ice cream. Mike says it also features a large room which is great for get-togethers and parties. For hungry diners looking for a quick bite for lunch or dinner, the restaurant offers $1 slices of pizza.
If you’re looking for a sweet way to finish your meal, look to the creamery side. With 12 soft serve machines offering ice cream, yogurt and custard in addition to more than a dozen hard packed ice cream flavors, there is something for everyone. Want something more than just an ice cream cone? The Holladay Pizza and Creamery also offers shakes and smoothies.
The ice cream, yogurt, custard, and sorbet flavors rotate every other day to give customers a new flavor experience. The daily flavors are picked based on customer feedback and what Mike’s children want to feature that day. Pineapple sorbet is a perennial favorite, as is the vanilla custard, rocky road, strawberry and vanilla ice cream.
Mike says the community felt a loss when Little Caesar’s and Baskin Robbins closed down. This takes the best of both types of foods in one location. The restaurant fills a niche that the community has come to expect for many years, he says.
“I know this area and know what people like. When we didn’t have these options anymore, I knew it would be a good time to open a new place that offers the things I love. It’s also the opportunity for the community to support a local business, not a chain store.”
Mike says supporting the community that supports his business is very important to his family. Through the end of the year, every Tuesday is customer appreciation night, and all ice cream, yogurt, sorbet, and custard is half off. Thursday’s are also double punch days for pizza and ice cream purchases. It’s another way to thank his friends and customers by showing them how much he appreciates their business.
The Holladay Pizza and Creamery is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sunday’s from noon to 9 p.m. For exclusive deals and specials, text “HPC” to 85775 to join the text club.
