Bode Miller, one of the winningest and most flamboyant ski racers, was leading in the recent men's super G at the World Championships when he clipped a gate then windmilled and careened down the steep icy slope severing his right thigh hamstring tendon. What does it mean for him?

“I tried retiring a couple of times and it just didn’t really stick so, but at some point enough things conspire together and it does stick," he said in an NBC interview.

"I’m not one of those people who needs a grand showing off or parade or anything. I just won’t be there. I’m leaning pretty heavy towards not—not going out there anymore. I love racing. But I just don't know."

Here are two links. The first is from 2005 when Bode lost a ski and skied most of the treacherous course on just one ski. The second link shows his recent crash that might end his career.
